His face has a fire nation type structure, just like Korra has a more roundish southern water tribe build!
This is really amazing and helpful, thanks for posting it :).

Can you just help me out...how is it that Mako and Korra are both 7 heads tall, but Mako is still taller?? I always mess up my drawings because the heads are too different!

The x amount of heads tall has nothing to do with someone's actual length, only the proportion of the body.
A realistic grown human is about 7-8 heads tall, however anime characters are often 6-7 heads tall.

Btw, you also took the bit of hair sticking out while measuring the head, hair doesn't count. o_o

There's a tip: head is a bit behind the body surface that we see on the foreground. So he should be about 8 heads actually.

Why are you measuring from the top of his hair rather than his skull?

:iconsukieblackmore:

because they did this on practices of the Gaang too.
Maybe I shouldn't have :D

you are not the only one. I should have measured differently, since Mako and Korra now have the same head... size... whatever :D

just poining out that his hair is pretty short cut, and is probably only a inch or two from his skull

You can see the reference head sukieblackmore drew compared to the tip of the hair. Also, even if it's just 2 inches when you multiply it 7 times over it easily passes a foot. Realistically I'd say he's around 7.5 to 8 heads, which is more likely for a young adult male.

You're bringing his chin too much to a point, I think. try that? I haven't studied the character enough to be sure... Good luck!

It's weird. His chin is always different-
depends on the scene... more action...more pointed???
